If you've got a Jeep and love going on adventures, it's important to ensure your vehicle is in top condition. At R&I Automotive, we provide high-quality car care services for Jeeps so that you can confidently enjoy the open road. We know there are lots of things to do to keep your Jeep ready for any adventures. Here are four ways our team members at R&I Automotive suggest staying on top of maintenance:
Regularly change the oil.
You should regularly change the oil in your Jeep. The oil is the lifeblood of your engine, so it's important to make sure you're changing it regularly. How often you do this depends on how much you drive and what type of oil you use. It's a good idea to check your oil level before going on a long trip because if it runs low, it can damage your engine.
Always check the tire pressure.
Checking your tire pressure on a regular basis is one of the easiest, most cost-effective ways to ensure that you keep your Jeep in prime condition. Once per month is recommended for most drivers, but if you drive off-road or regularly in inclement weather, it's wise to check the pressure more often.
The best time to check tire pressure is when the tires are cold—meaning they haven't been driven on yet and still have their original shape from being stored. If you're going to be checking tire pressure often (or if you just want an excuse to get out of bed earlier), consider purchasing a tire gauge that has its own flashlight built into it so no matter how dark or foggy it gets outside, there won't be any surprises waiting around every corner!
Do not forget about the battery.
You may not think about your battery very often. However, when you are out on the road and need power for your vehicle's electrical system, you will want to be sure that it is working correctly. Batteries can be expensive and dangerous if they fail while you are driving.
There are several ways to check a car battery:
- Checking the charge level with a voltmeter
- Looking at how much voltage is coming out of your alternator when running at full RPMs (this doesn't always tell the whole story)
- Using an amp meter or load tester (measures both amperage and voltage)
What's the best way to keep your Jeep in good running shape? The answer is simple: stick to a maintenance schedule.
Many factors affect engine performance, but one thing that can really impact how well your Jeep runs is routine oil changes and other routine maintenance. When you take care of these tasks on schedule, it ensures that your engine stays clean and protected from dirt, grime, dust, and debris. Routine maintenance also helps prevent damage from occurring before it happens, so if something goes wrong later down the line, there won't be any surprises when you need repairs done on your Jeep!
Keep your Jeep ready for any adventures.
As you've probably guessed from the title, Jeeps are meant to be used. They were built for adventure and exploration! But that doesn't mean you can just hop in your vehicle and go on an adventure without giving it a little bit of maintenance first.
The first step is to keep your Jeep clean and tidy. You might not think that this applies to Jeeps because they're often thought of as rugged vehicles, but it's important to keep them clean anyway so that they'll last longer and stay safe while you're driving them! Plus, who wants a dirty old Jeep? Nobody!
Next up: Have fun with your Jeep! This means taking it on some trails or dirt roads where there isn't much traffic (make sure you have spare tires, just in case). You could also drive through mud puddles or other places where there's water; this will let everyone know who owns this amazing car, you do!
